| WILD FLOWERS Every summer the blooming wildflowers transform the country into a sea of colors. A spectacular show is put on by many varieties of wildflowers. Varieties include: lupine, columbine, lilies, orange hawkweed, wild roses and paintbrush. Canada has approximately 3,200 species of native vascular plants, of which over 1,000 are considered rare and over 100 are presently at risk of extinction. Fewer than a dozen of these species are presently included in formal endangered species recovery plans. |
