
| The General Managers: Susan Thorup and Steen Moeller-Madsen Susan and Steen have moved all the way from Denmark to be a part of the Big Bar family. They arrived in British Columbia May 2009. They were hand picked by Kresten to help him build Big Bar Guest Ranch into one of Canada’s top destinations. Susan and Steen have worked with horses for almost all their lives. Before they came to Big Bar Guest Ranch they worked as a couple at “Denmarks National Equestrian Centre” were they also lived for many years. Susan worked as Event Manager and Steen as Head of the Service Department. Steen is a trained psychologist and has had his own consultant company doing leadertraining, teambuilding, coaching the MBA Students etc.

| The Staff: Lindsay Desjarlais – Assistant Manager Lindsay was born and raised in Sidney, BC. She arrived at Big Bar in March 2009 to join our team as assistant manager. Lindsay also has an equestrian background in English and Western riding. After her children had grown, Lindsay decided to follow a dream and live & work in the wilds of BC. Her love and passion for horses led her to the Adventure Tourism Industry and to Big Bar Guest Ranch.

| Lars Rytter Bundgaard Lars came from Denmark in October 2009. Lars is a carpenter and has built more than 360 timber homes in Germany and Denmark. His passion is working with wood and he will do all the renovation, and maintenance of the ranches buildings. Lars has decided to stay in BC for the rest of his life and as a co-owner he will also invest in Big Bar Guest Ranch.

| Bill Spoonemore - (Barn Boss) & Paxton Bill was raised in the Cariboo and knows its many histories. Bill is also very knowledgeable about the local wildlife and flora, and will have an answer for just about any question you throw at him. He’s worked with Big Bar for many years. His horse Paxton was caught from the wild herd in Paxton Valley.

| ‘Camel Dave’ Howell - (Wrangler) & Hawk Dave started coming to Big Bar Guest Ranch as a guest in 1991 with his daughter Taylor. He moved to Big Bar in 2001 and has worked most summers as a wrangler. He got his ‘Camel’ nickname while working with camels in Barkerville, BC.

| Nicholas ‘Dundee’ Rose - (Wrangler) & Buster Nick was born and raised on the coast of BC, but has been working in the mountains as a horseback hunting guide for the last six years. He arrived at Big Bar Guest Ranch in March 2009 to join the Big Bar team as a wrangler. ”Season 2009”

| Patricia Coldwell - Cook Pat has been with Big Bar Guest Ranch for many years. She and her husband, Charlie Coldwell, own a small, well known cattle ranch a few minutes from Big Bar Ranch. Her devotion to this ranch is inspirational, and we all thank her for it!

| Taylor Howell - (Wrangler/Office Assistant) & Chico Taylor was born and raised on the coast of BC. She started coming to Big Bar Guest Ranch as a child in 1991. She has worked for Big Bar Ranch as wrangler, kitchen aid, office assistant and housekeeper. Chico is Taylor’s personal horse. ”Season 2009”

| Sonja Mehmel - Housekeeper Sonja has joined us from Germany. She is currently on a world tour, and has stopped to work at the ranch for 3 months. She is working as the housekeeper, as well as translating all ranch information into German, for our German tourists. Sonja is also an asset to the barn as she has a history of working with horses, so can wrangle when needed. ”Season 2009” |
